Burial will follow at Worden Cemetery.Mr. Stoebener died Saturday, Aug. 1, 1998, at the Baldwin Care Center, Baldwin.He was born May 25, 1908, on the family farm near Worden, the son of John and Sophia Haas Stoebener.He grew up on the farm and attended the German church grade school and the Central Grade School north of Worden.In the early 1940s, he purchased his uncle's farm near Worden. He farmed more than 24 years before retiring in 1972. He then began working as a custodian for the Marion Springs Rural School District No. 64 for 11 years before retiring.Mr. Stoebener moved to Baldwin in 1984.He was a member of the St. John's United Church of Christ and the Worden United Methodist Church, where he taught Sunday school for more than 40 years; Range Line Community Club; and a school board member of the Central Rural School District No. 64.He married Opal Stoebener. She survives of the home.Other survivors include a son, Robert, Cameron, Mo.; a daughter, Jeanette Tryborn, Lawrence; two brothers, Walter and Oscar, both of Baldwin; a sister, Norma Schwarz, Baldwin; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.Friends may call after 3 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Lamb-Roberts-Heise Funeral Home in Baldwin, where the family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday.The family suggests memorials to Douglas County Visiting Nurses Assn. or the Baldwin Care Center, sent in care of the funeral home, P.O.
