Bio: Wenatchee World - Sunday, July 4, 2010William Robert "Billy Bob" Jones, 57, a longtime Waterville resident, passed away Wednesday, June 30, 2010, in his home, with his family by his side. He was born September 22, 1952, in Waterville, WA. He was the fifth child of seven born to Charles and Grace (Preugshat) Jones. He graduated from Waterville High School in 1970, and then worked various jobs in the agricultural industry. He went on to a long and satisfying career in land surveying, including working with his mother and step-father in Colville, WA. In 1979, Bill met the love of his life, Gail Marie Rairdon, and married her June 14, 1980, in Wenatchee. Gail had a four-year-old daughter, Katy Marie Hart, who he instantly became "daddy" to and proudly raised as his own. In September, 1980, they had another beautiful daughter, Maggie Elizabeth. He was fiercely devoted to his family; there was nothing that he wouldn't or couldn't do for them. He was fond of saying that his "girls could always come back home." Children and animals were instantly drawn to his kind heart, and he adored them as well. He also loved the outdoors, from taking pictures of sunsets to catching snakes in the fields around Waterville. He could always find something interesting or beautiful when he went outside. A lifelong Cougars fan, he even went so far as proudly wearing his Cougs hat while receiving treatment at the UW. In the last year of his life, he found an extended family in Doctor Sam Whiting and the kind and caring people of the SCCA, without whom he might not have fought on for as long as he did.He is survived by his daughters, Maggie Gutierrez of Waterville and Katy Coleman of Ephrata; his sons-in-law, Octaviano Gutierrez and Michael Hughes; his grandson, Caleb Coleman; his mother and step-father, Grace and Mike Pine of Sierra Vista, AZ; two brothers, Chuck Jones of Waterville and Dale Jones of Hereford, AZ; two sisters, Marcia Webb of East Wenatchee and Cheryl Weaver of Evening Shade, AR; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many close friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gail Jones; his granddaughter, Audra Coleman; his father, Charles Jones; his sister, Vicki Jones; and his brother, Clifford "Copper" Jones.There will be a Graveside Memorial Service held at the Waterville Cemetery on Tuesday, July 6, 2010, at 11:00 a.m., with reception following. The service is open to all friends, family and anybody who knew and loved Billy Bob. In lieu of flowers, donations in William Jones' name may be made to the SCCA (please contact Katy for details), the Wenatchee Valley Humane Society, or the Waterville Ambulance Fund.
