Pastor Tottie Lenerville will officiate with burial in the McIntosh Cemetery. A service for family and friends will be held at 7:00pm on Friday evening at the Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home in Lemmon. Serving as Active Casketbeares are Travis & Chris Hoff, Clifton, Jimmy, Mike, and Matt Seiler. Honorary Casketbearers are Laura Smith, Stefanie Maher, Amber Schaefer, Nicole Sharp and Tiffany Eckmann. Emily Caroline Lenz was born February 9, 1931 in Gladstone, North Dakota to Adolph and Ida (Brandt) Lenz. She was raised by her maternal Grandparents in Taylor N.D where she attended school and graduated in 1949. She worked as a telephone operator in Taylor and met Reinhold (Reiny) Hoff when he moved to town to manage the Occident elevator. They were married on June 12, 1954 at Taylor N.D. They made their home in Stanley ND, Brockton and Culbertson Montana before finally settling in McIntosh SD in April of 1968. Four children were born to this union. She enjoyed reading, camping, fishing, bowling, gardening, puzzles and her friends. But her family gave her the most enjoyment. Grateful for sharing her life are sons Alan & Pat (Erz) Hoff of McIntosh SD and Neil Hoff of Lemmon SD, daughters Sharon (Hoff) & Jerome Seiler McIntosh SD and Betty (Hoff) & Paul Schaefer, Grimes, Iowa; 11 grandchildren, Travis Hoff, Christopher Hoff, Laura (Hoff) Smith, Tiffany (Hoff) Eckmann, Clifton Seiler, Stefanie (Seiler) Maher, Jimmy, Michael and Matthew Seiler, Amber Schaefer, Nicole (Schaefer) Sharp; 13 great grandchildren, 1 brother Harry Lenz of Dickinson ND and 2 sisters Ida Young of Seattle, WA, Clara Elkins of Dickinson, ND and many nieces and nephews. Emily passed away at Miller Pointe care facility in Mandan ND on Jan 2, 2018. She was preceded in death by her husband Reiny Hoff, her parents, 1 sister and 3 brothers. A memorial has been established. Visitation will be on Friday from 1:00 to 7:00pm at the Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home in Lemmon and on Saturday one hour prior to services at the First Presbyterian Church.
