Jack was the first graduate from St. John the Divine High School to become a doctor. He received his B.S. Degree from Baylor University before receiving his M.D. from the University of Texas in 1958. Jack was a member of the Harris County, the Texas, the American, and the Southern Medical Associations, The Houston Surgical Society and the Texas Colon and Rectal Society. He was a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, the International College of Surgeons and the American College of Colon and Rectal Surgeons. He had served as Assistant Professor of Surgery at Baylor University, College of Medicine in Houston and was an Instructor in Surgery at the Texas Medical School of Houston.
