SHOUDEL, 89, of Auburn, died Sunday, Nov. 23, 2003, at Heritage Manor in Springfield, Ill. Born Oct. 10, 1914, in Grand Rapids, Mich., he was the son of the late William and Stella (Kraft) Shoudel. He was employed at Auburn Gear for 32 years, retiring in 1973. He married Marie (Kepler) Shoudel, Nov. 27, 1937, in Auburn; she died Feb. 12, 2002. Surviving are son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Mary Shoudel of Rochester, Ill.; five grandchildren, Lynne Shoudel of St. Louis, Mo., Dr. John (Mary) Shoudel of Rochester, Ill., David Shoudel of Rochester, Ill., Tracy (Daniel) Schnorr of Columbia City and Todd Johnson of Fort Wayne; three great-grandchildren, Celine and Keeley Shoudel of Rochester, Ill. and Jacob Schnorr of Columbia City. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Carol Johnson, a brother, Charles Shoudel; and three sisters, Thelma Cope, Audrey Hickman and Harriet Woodcock. Service is 1 p.m. Saturday at Feller Funeral Home in Waterloo, with Dr. Robert Craig officiating. Calling is from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday. Burial at Woodlawn Cemetery, Auburn.
