Bio: Dorotha M. Lingelbach, 80, Independence, Mo., passed away Dec. 21, 2014. Service will be 10 a.m. Sat., Dec. 27, at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO 64052. Burial Mt. Washington Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. before the service at the chapel. The family requests contributions to the American Diabetes Association , 6900 College Boulevard #250, Leawood, KS 66211. Dorotha was born Oct. 11, 1934, in Fayetteville, Ark. She earned her Associates Degree from the University of Arkansas and worked at Mt. Washington Elementary School. She was with the Kansas City (MO) School District for over 40 years before retiring in 2007. She was a charter member of the First Missionary Baptist Church in Kansas City, Kan., and was very active in her church as a Sunday School Teacher, Church Clerk and Deacon's wife. She enjoyed working jigsaw puzzles and spending time with her grandchildren. Dorotha was preceded in death by two brothers, a sister and a brother-in-law. She is survived by husband of 59 years, Clyde Lingelbach, of the home; daughter, Karen Stallings and husband Ben, Kansas City, Mo.; son, Ken Lingelbach and wife Pam, Independence,; brothers, Claude Lower; James Lower, sister, Hazel Stevens and husband Jerral, all of Fayetteville; sister-in-law, Ruby Crowe, Wichita, Kan., and grandchildren, Jordan, Bobbie, Phillip and Jacob.
