Mina Jo Bostic, age 61, of Grove City, Oh., died Thursday, April 30, 1998 at her residence. She was preceded in death by parents Charles H. and Helen Behrer Kropp, brother Harry Kropp, Wilton, Ct. and is survived by husband, Leslie A. Bostic; daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Danny Paro; son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Debra Bostic; grandchildren, McKenzie Jacalyn Bostic and twin granddaughters, Jenna McCormick Paro and Lillian Nance Paro. Jo was dedicated to her children and to her husband and his work with The Buckeye Ranch. The birth of her first grandchild, McKenzie and just recently twin granddaughters Jenna and Lilly provided Jo with great joy and personal contentment during her difficult illness. Jo devoted her professional life to disadvantaged children and families. Early in her career, she served as Adoption Supervisor for FCCS. She was employed for 26 years with the South-Western City School District, serving as Director of Head Start from 1988 to 1996, until her retirement. Following her retirement, she served as a consultant and field trainer of early childhood education. She belonged to numerous professional organizations, including the National Association of Social Workers, Columbus Association for Education of Young Children (CAEYC), National Association for the Education of Young Children, Beyond Head Start, Charter President of Grove City LaSertoma and Grove City Area Clean Community. She was devoted to her dear friends in her bridge and tennis group. She was highly respected by her colleagues and friends for her strong advocacy for the Head Start movement and for her expertise in early childhood education. Burial will be in the Bostic family cemetery plot in Biscoe, N.C. at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 2, 1998. Gifts in Jo's memory may be made to the Equestrian Therapy Center at The Buckeye Ranch, 5665 Hoover Rd., Grove City, Oh. 43123. A Memorial Service will be at 7 p.m. Monday, May 4, 1998 at the Grove City United Methodist Church, 2684 Columbus St., Grove City, Oh., where the family will receive friends in the Family Life Center after the service. Arrangements by SCHOEDINGER-NORRIS CHAPEL, 3920 Broadway, Grove City.
