  BIOGRAPHY: Adam Riesbeck/Reasbeck/Yunkas/Mohr RHelmberger Posted: 4 Jan 2003 10:13PM GMT Classification: Query Surnames: Riesbeck/Reasbeck/Yunkas/Mohr I am interested in finding any descendents of Adam Riesbeck who emigrated to US from Germany in 1830s and settled in PA and then Ohio. First wife was Magdelina Yunkas. Second wife was Maria Mohr. My parents were George and Sylvia Reasbeck. Anyone out there? BIOGRAPHY: In 1850, 37 year old German-born farmer Adam Reisbeck lived in Centre Twp., Monroe County, Ohio. Living with him was 65 year old Margaret Reisbeck, and children Catherine (14), Barbara (9), Maria (7), Mark (5), and Martin (2). It is theorized that Adam was a widower living with his widowed mother, but this has not been proven. None of the children attended school. Adam's farm was valued at $1000. At the time of the 1870 census, 57 year old Bavarian-born farmer Adam Reesaback lived in Center Twp., Monroe Co., Ohio with Mary (45, born in Prussia) and eight children: Magdeline (16), George (15), Mary A. (14), Elizabeth (12), Charles J. (10), Teresa (?) (8), Anne (6), and Philip (4). Mary, Elizabeth, Charles and Teresa attended school. Magdeline and her parents were the only ones in the home who could read. Adam's farm was worth $3000, and his personal possessions were valued at $800.
