Benjamin Franklin Kahrig Source: Monroe County Beacon dated January 8, 1998: Benjamin Franklin Kahrig, 81, Byesville Rd., Cambridge, died Jan. 4, 1998, in Cambridge Health and Rehabilitation Center, Cambridge. He was born April 20, 1916, in Lewisville, Monroe County, son of the late Philip Kahrig and Louisa Pfalzgraf Kahrig. A self-employed truck driver, he was a farmer and retired from Guernsey County Highway Garage. He was a member of Salesville United Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife, Pauline "Pat" Ingram Kahrig; three sons, Donald, Old Washington, Bill, Salesville, Jan, Salesville; a daughter, Mrs. Dennis (Judy) Starr, Old Washington; two step-sons, Gary Kafury, Tom Kafury, both of Cambridge; two brothers, Homer Kafury [sic. Kahrig], Salesville, Lawrence Kafury [sic. Kahrig], Lewisville; three sisters Minnie Walters, Marietta, Marie Brooks, of Mentor, Sophia Reischman, of Barnesville; nine grandchildren; two step-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Ed., Alfred and George Kahrig; a sister, Pauline Christman. Friends were received at Thorn Funeral Home, Cambridge, Jan. 6, where services were held Jan. 7, with the Rev. John E. Bowers officiating. Burial followed in Guernsey Memory Gardens, Cambridge.
