William Kahrig
William E. "Doc" Kahrig, 59 of 33982 Skin Creek Road, Lewisville, Ohio died Friday, August 12, 2005 at U.P.M.C. Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
He was born near Lewisville, Ohio (Monroefield) on January 2, 1946 a son of the late Lawrence and Ella Christman Kahrig.
He was a retired craneman at Ormet Corporation, Hannibal, Ohio; a member of the Graysville Church of Christ, Graysville, Ohio; and a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He enjoyed four-wheeling, motorcycles and hunting in his spare time.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother: Roger Kahrig; one brother-in-law: Edward Uppole; and one sister-in-law: Mary Kahrig.
Surviving are his wife, Kathy Jean Jones Kahrig whom he married on April 9, 1976; three sons: Michael Kahrig of Lebanon, Ohio, Bryan Kahrig of Woodsfield, Ohio and William (Terri) Crump of Little Rock, Arkansas; one daughter: Amy (Paul) McCammon of Woodsfield, Ohio; seven brothers: Herman (Eileen) Kahrig of Barnesville, Ohio, Lester (Eula) Kahrig of Pataskala, Ohio, Rodney (Betty) Kahrig of Woodsfield, Ohio, Francis (Dorothy) Kahrig of Canton, Ohio, Kenneth (Kitty) Kahrig of Jerusalem, Ohio, Lloyd (Connie) Kahrig of Wooster, Ohio and Virgil (Vivian) Kahrig; five sisters: Martha Uppole of Lewisville, Ohio, Dortha (Wilfred) Matz of Dalton, Ohio, Vera (Robert) Crock of Massillon, Ohio, Leora (Tony) Cruise of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and Doris Kahrig of Rittman, Ohio; a sister-in-law: Charlotte Horsley of Pataskala, Ohio; nine grandchildren: Rachael, Andrew, Joshua Kahrig, Natosha McCammon, Taylor Griffin, Chase Hickman, Cole McCammon, Carlie Crump and McKenna Crump; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends will be received at the Watters Funeral Home, 37501 State Route 78 West, Woodsfield, Ohio from 2 to 9 p.m. Monday, August 15, 2005 where funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 16, 2005 with Harold Kinney, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Friendship Cemetery, Lewisville, Ohio with full military graveside services by the Belmont Veterans Council.
