Bio: Dave passed away peacefully in his sleep during the early morning hours of July 22, 2017. Dave was 63 years old and still worked a 40 hour week, even though he was looking forward to retirement.David (as his Mother insisted on calling him) was born on December 14, 1953, in Terry, Montana, the first son of Christ and Berta Doffinger Lassle. His Mother and older brother, Helmut had emigrated from Germany in 1952 and she married Christ Lassle in March of 1953. Brothers Daniel and Duane, and sister, Deloris completed the family. Christ’s mother also lived with them in Fallon, which was a good thing because it took Mother, Grandmother, and big brother, Helmut to keep 3 little blonde headed boys in check. Being so close in age the 3 Lassle boys always had someone to play with and a little sister to tease all the time.Church was a big part of family life and Dave was confirmed in the Evangelical Church in 1968. They went to church every Sunday and Wednesday. Mother also insisted that they attended Bible School at every church in Fallon each summer. This continued until they were teenagers and started working.Dave worked around Fallon and for farmers in the Fallon area until he graduated from Terry High School in 1972 and went off to college in Bozeman and then Billings, MT. After college he went to work for Glendive Coke and became the “Coke Man”. He made a lot of great friends during this time and he loved Coke for the rest of his life. In 2006 he made a career change and went to work for Prairie County with the Road Department. He continued working there until he passed.Dave loved to have fun, and being a cowboy was fun for him. He was very proud to carry the American and Montana flags in parades with his friend Dan Dukart. He was an avid reader and would trade books with whoever had one he wanted to read. His latest hobby was flying radio controlled airplanes and he was thrilled to get to go to Nevada each winter with Dale Galland to fly planes on the salt flats.Dave is preceded in death by his Parents and Grandparents. Dave is survived by his brothers, Helmut (Nina), Daniel (Pam) and Duane, all of Terry, MT, sister, Deloris (David) Killion of Discovery Bay, CA, and many nephews and nieces. He is also survived by his pal Muggles, who was with him until the end.Visitation for David Lassle will be on Sunday, July 30, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home in Terry, MT. Box 81, Fallon, MT 59326The family would like to thank the Fallon community for taking care of Dave and checking up on him when he didn’t show up for coffee. The Sunset has called you home, Dave.
