From 1949 to 1992 he operated Gus' Village Barber Shop in Magnolia. He was devoted to his family and many, many friends. Gus loved fishing, golfing, taking long walks, spending time at his property on the Skagit River and especially working in his garden. He will always be remembered for his gifts of fruit and vegetables from his garden, for his willingness to help others and for the practical advice he shared with everyone. Gus is survived by his long-time companion, Ann Hayes; his children LaVern Stevenson, Sylvia Simmons, Albert Traxinger and Jane Harness; his 14 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his wife Alvina (Feist) and his daughter, Linda. The Rosary will be held on Fri. Oct. 10 at 4:00 p.m. and the Funeral Mass on Sat. Oct. 11 at 1:00 p.m., both at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 3218 W. Barrett St. Seattle.
