He passed away on Saturday, December 16, 2006 in Washington, MO at the age of 79 years. He received his schooling at St. Ambrose, St. John's and St. Mary's. Frank served his country twice in the United States Army from 1946 to1948 and from 1950 to 1952.On June 11, 1952 he was united in marriage to Bernice Duemler at the Immaculate Conception Church in Union. The couple made their home in the Union area. He was employed with General Motors and retired from there in 1987. He was preceded in death by two sons, Jerry and Carl Helfrich; three sisters, Adrienne Kientzle, Laurie Coons and Eleanor Prosser and one brother, Bob Helfrich. He is survived by his wife, Bernice Helfrich of Union, MO; one son, Paul Helfrich and his wife, Barbara, of Villa Ridge, MO; two daughters, Ruth Klenke and her husband, David, of Union, MO; and Mary Williams and her husband, Matt, of O'Fallon, MO, seven grandchildren, three sisters, Glorine Straatmann of Washington, MO, Jeanne Holtmeier of Union, MO and Carolyn Von Nida of FL; one brother, William Helfrich of Fenton, MO, one brother-in-law, Charlie Duemler of Union, MO one sister-in-law Hilda Helfrich of Washington, MO and many other relatives and friends. The Funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, December 19, 2006 at 10:00 A.M. at the Immaculate Conception Church in Union, MO with Rev. Matthew Mitas officiating. Interment followed in the Church Cemetery. The Helfrich family was served by the Oltmann Funeral Home in Union, MO.
