Bio: George J. Klug, 75, Dickinson, ND died Wednesday, March 7, 2007 at St. Joseph's Hospital & Health Center, Dickinson. George's Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 10, 2007 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Dickinson with Fr. Dennis Schafer as the celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery, with military honors provided by the Veterans Drill Team. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson, with a rosary and vigil at 7 p.m.. George Jacob Klug was born January 2, 1932 in Dickinson, the son of Adam and Margaret (Weisgerber) Klug, Sr.. He attended St. Joseph's School and Dickinson High School. He joined the United States Navy in June of 1949. On December 7, 1953 he married Gloria Werchau at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Dickinson. George served a tour in Vietnam and following a 20 year career retired as a Boatswain's Mate Chief. Following his retirement from the Navy he went to work for the US Geological Survey, Water Resources Division, retiring in 1992. He enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing and gardening. He was a member of the Elks Lodge and also the Fleet Reserve. He was dearly loved by his wife, Gloria; seven children, Vicki and special friend, John Nunnaro, Lakeside, CA, Tim (Peggy), Bismarck, Bill (Paula), Washburn, Mary (Dean) Franchuk, Dickinson, Amy (Rod) Kleinjan, Dickinson, Nancy (Chad) Wanner, Dickinson, and John (Maggie), Minot; grandchildren, Mary Heuer, Brad and Sarah Klug, Jeremy (Lindsey) Marsh, Alicia and Jessica Hopkins, Kayla and Trent Kleinjan, Randi and Colbie Wanner, and Nicole, Kaitlyn and Shania Klug; great-grandchildren, Landen and Madisen Heuer, Gabrielle Adams and Jayden Atkins. He is also survived by brothers, Bernard (Betty), Bismarck, David (Jean), Meridian, ID, and Paul (Shirley), Weiser, ID; sister, Selma (Tom) Heck, Scott City, KS; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death are his parents, his brother, Adam, Jr., and great-granddaughter, Angel. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the Veterans Drill Team of Dickinson.
