Birth: Aug. 28, 1920 Wayne County Illinois, USA Death: Sep. 19, 1997 Glendale Maricopa County Arizona, USA Obituary from Wayne County Press, 9/25/1997: Charles Bernard Malone, 73, Dies In Arizona; Rites Held Charles Bernard Malone, 77, died at his home in Glendale, Ariz., Friday, Sept. 19, 1997, following a period of declining health with a heart condition. He was a Wayne County native and a brother of Bud Malone of Fairfield. Retired Electrician Mr. Malone was a retired electrician. He lived a number of years in the Alton area, moving to Arizona about ten years ago after retirement. Private family services were held Wednesday, with burial in Roselawn Memory Gardens at Bethalto, Ill. The Elias-Smith Funeral Home at Alton was in charge of arrangement. A visitation was held there Tuesday evening, with a Masonic service at seven o'clock. He was born in Wayne County Aug. 28, 1920, the son of Oga and Nellie Gregg Malone. On Apr. 14, 1944, he was married to . . . . Mr. Malone was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Marines in the Pacific Theater. He was a member of Piasa Masonic Lodge No. 27 and was a deacon and member of North Phoenix Baptist Church and the Calvary Baptist Church at Alton. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association. The Survivors Surviving are his wife; one son, . . . ; two daughters, . . . ; one brother, William Lowell (Bud) Malone of Fairfield; one sister, Mildred Atchison of Wadesville, Ind.; and four grandchildren.
