Birth: Nov. 27, 1901 Lawrence County Illinois, USA Death: Jan. 26, 1970 Bridgeport Lawrence County Illinois, USA William T. Walters, 68, of Route 1, Bridgeport, and father of Stanley Walters of 402 Richland Street, Olney, died quite unexpectedly at the Bridgeport Medical Center on Monday. Funeral services will be held at the Cunningham-Nichols Funeral Home at Bridgeport on Wednesday at 2 p.m. with Pastor David Raetz, officiating. Interment will be in Crest Haven Cemetery, near Claremont. Friends may call at the funeral home at Bridgeport after 4 p.m. Tuesday. Mr. Walters was born in Lawrence County, November 27, 1901, son of William J. and Ethel Land Walters. He was a retired employee of the Texas Corporation and was also owner of the Bridgeport feed store and was also engaged in farming. He was affiliated with Our Savior Lutheran Church at Lawrenceville. He is survived by his wife, the former Ruby Scherer; two daughters, Mrs. Marjorie Stockfleet of Lawrenceville and Miss V. Jeanne Walters at home; and two sons, Russell Walters of Route 2, Sumner and Stanley Walters of Olney. Two sisters, Mrs. Marie Clevy of Claremont and Miss Daisy Walters of Indianapolis; four brothers, Gardie Walters of Bloomington, Ind., Robert, Albert and Welcome Walters, all of Bridgeport; and eight grandchildren also survive.
