Birth: May 12, 1909 Richland County Illinois, USA Death: Apr. 29, 1974 Vincennes Knox County Indiana, USA Mrs. Flossie Mae Sager 64, a resident of 502 West Butler street, passed away late last evening at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, where she had been a patient for the past several days. A lifelong resident of the county, Mrs. Sager was the daughter of Daniel Scherer and Eve Amanda Goss Scherer. She was married to Harry E. Sager in Olney on Febraury 28, 1928. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church. Mrs. Sager was considered one of the county's finest ladies and was extremely active in the communities in which she lived. She was a charter member of the Richland County Home Extension Unit and a member of a local unit. She was active in 4-H work for many years and a member of the Friendship Club of Trinity Lutheran Church. She and her husband operated the Sager Cafe just west of the courthouse for several years and established a fine reputation for good food and sincere friendliness. She leaves her husband, Harry; and three children, Kenneth L. Sager of Rt. 2, Olney, Paul Leland Sager of rural Claremont and Mrs. Richard (Carol) King of Austin, Texas. There are 9 grandchildren. She also leaves a sister and three brothers, Mrs. Ruby Walters of Bridgeport, Elza Scherer, Roscoe Scherer and Virgil Scherer, all of Claremont. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters, Chester and Harry Scherer, Mabel Scherer and Mrs. Bessie Phillips. Funeral services will be held Thursday in the Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Glenn Leaf officiating. Interment will be in the Crest Haven Memorial Park.
