Birth: Jan. 30, 1900 Richland County Illinois, USA Death: Sep. 29, 1990 Lawrenceville Lawrence County Illinois, USA Ruby Pearl Walters, 90, of the United Methodist Village in Lawrenceville (formerly of Bridgeport), died at 7 p.m. on Saturday, September 29, 1990 at the United Methodist Village in Lawrencevlle. Arrangements are being handled by the Cunningham Funeral Home of Bridgeport. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, October 1, 1990 (today) at the funeral home. Pastor Joel Brandes will conduct the services. Burial will be held in the Crest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation was held from 7-9 p.m. on Sunday, September 30 at the funeral home. Mrs. Walters was born on January 30, 1900 in Richland County to Daniel Scherer and Amanda (Goff) Scherer. She later married William Walters. He preceded her in death in 1970. Mrs. Walters was a homemaker. She was a member of the Our Savior Lutheran Church in Lawrenceville. She was also a member of the Bridgeport Garden Club and the Tank City Thimble Club. Mrs. Walters is survived by two sons, Russell Walters, of Big Spring, Texas and Stanley Walters, of Olney. She is also survived by two daughters, Marjorie Stockfleet, of Lawrenceville and Jeanne Walters, of Route 1, Bridgeport. Mrs. Walters is survived by eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, five brothers and her husband.
