Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday at Bethany Lutheran Church in Howard with Rev. Rick and Becky Senner officiating. Burial to follow at Graceland Cemetery in Howard. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at Willoughby Funeral Home in Howard. David Marion Dalton was born on Oct. 12, 1938, at Highmore, to Harley and Esther (Rittel) Dalton. He grew up in the area and graduated from Highmore High School in 1956. On April 19, 1959, he was united in marriage to Shirley Gramm at Menno. The couple lived in Highmore where he owned Dalton’s Floor Covering and Furniture Store until 1966. They then moved to Howard in that year and he worked for Montgomery’s Furniture Store in Madison for 25 years before he started working at Stamina Vans in Howard and later at Sitrite Seats in Madison. He is survived by his daughter, Myra (Dennis) Feldhaus of Howard; two sons, Mark (Lynn) Dalton of Spencer; Rick (Beth) Dalton of Wichita, Kan.; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; brother, Marvin Dalton of Sioux Falls; two sisters, LaVonne (Royal) Kutz of Highmore, and Grace (Darryl) Heckenlaible; and numerous relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; and a nephew, Derrick.
