Rhodes, Lois Elizabeth Landvater, 78, of Middlebury, IN. died Oct. 29, 2013 at her earthly home. She was born March 12, 1935, in Hershey, PA, to Nathan and Sue (Miller) Landvater.
Lois was married to James Rhodes, they were married Jan. 1, 1956. Lois was a member of First Mennonite Church of Middlebury, IN. She and her husband participated in over 40 work projects with the Mobile Missionary Assistance Program in many of the 49 states. She thoroughly enjoyed traveling in their RV, meeting and working with people in the ministry of service..
Survivors include her husbandJames and a son Robert "Bob" (Maribeth Miller) of
Middlebury; a daughter Rhonda (John) Fehring of Churubusco; five grandchildren, Allen Rhodes of Indianapolis, Brian Rhodes of Elkhart, and James, Rachel, and Joel Fehring all of Churubusco; two great-grandchildren, Grace Elizabeth Rhodes of Elkhart and Jaxon Edward Rhodes of Indianapolis; a sister, Delores Landvater of Halifax, PA. Lois worked as a dental assistant for Dr. Kermit Bechtel in Goshen and as a community reporter for the Goshen News and the Elkhart Truth. She also served as a community appointee to the Goshen Hospital Board. She retired as a school secretary from Northridge High School
