Date of Birth: February 19, 1938 Died on: March 30, 2017 Ashley, ND-Funeral service for Albert Lux, 79, of Ashley will be 11:00 am, Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at Carlsen Funeral Home in Ashley. The Rev. Sara Sorensen will officiate. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery at Ashley. Visitation will be Wednesday for one hour prior to the service. Albert died March 30, 2017 at CHI St. Alexius Health in Bismarck. Albert Lux, son of Christian and Pauline (Schaeffer) Lux, was born February 19, 1938 in rural McIntosh County, ND. He grew up on the family farm and attended country school. Albert was united in marriage to Viola Entzi on October 16, 1957 in Ashley. Between 1957 and 1965 he worked at various farming and ranching jobs and for one year at Bald Mountain Gold Mine in the Black Hills. In 1965, Albert went to work at Homestake Gold Mine in Lead, SD for 12 years. From 1977 to 2006 Albert and Viola farmed northeast of Long Lake, SD. In 2007 they retired and moved to Ashley. Albert continued to help on his son’s farm near Leola whenever he was needed. Grateful for have shared Albert’s life are his wife, Viola of Ashley; three sons Scoty (Teresa) Lux of Lead, SD, Lonny (Lori) Lux of Aberdeen, SD and Layne (LeAnn) Lux of Leola, SD; one daughter Charlene Davis of Sarasota, FL; sister-in-law, Esther Lux of Lead, SD; 11 grandchildren and two and a half great-grandchildren. Albert was preceded in death by his parents, two siblings in infancy, Harold and Deloris, brother, Adolph and sister and brother-in-law, Darlene and Ray Merritt. Honorary Casketbearers will Albert’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Casketbearers will be Cameron Lux, Jacob Lux, Justin Lux, Matthew Davis, James Entzi and Joel Entzi. Carlsen Funeral Home of Ashley has been entrusted with arrangements.
