August at the age of 2½ months with his parents and four siblings immigrated to America sailing on the 4 April 1899 from Bremen, Germany to Ellis Island, New York, arriving on the 21 April 1899 aboard the SS "Lahn". The family first went to Eureka, McPherson, South Dakota and one year later moved to Logan County, North Dakota. August BECKER married Christina KRAMER on the 6 December 1923 in Wishek, McIntosh County, North Dakota. The couple was blessed with 6 children; Alfred, Agnes L, Alma L, Arna L, Adna L and Alda.
