Gallant, 89, Fostoria, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, May 30, 2006 at 3 A.M. at Fairhaven Home, Upper Sandusky, Ohio. He was born on August 18, 1916 in Findlay, Ohio to the late Arthur and Ethel (Morrison) Gallant. On August 27, 1938, he married Mildred R. Schwab and she survives. Also surviving is a son: Gaylan F. (Sherry) Gallant, rural Fostoria; two daughters; Nila (Larry) Phillipps, rural Fostoria; and Sharon (Roy) Gonia, Liberty Center. Bob had nine grandchildren, Stephanie Gault, Jennifer Sowders, Allison Phillipps, Megan Ware, Matthew and Jessica Gallant, Kelly Javorek, Chris Gonia, and Tracy Weithas; and 16 great-grandchildren. His only sibling, Delbert Gallant is deceased. Bob formerly worked at Garwood Industries and served as president of the union. He retired after 35 years of service from Fabco and Werk-Brau Corporation. Bob was a life member of the Hancock County Humane Society, Loyal Order of the Moose No. 698, Hancock County Historical Society and the A.A.R.P. Bob was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church and former member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church. A mass of Christian Burial will be 1 p.m. Friday at St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria, Ohio with Father Dan Ring officiating. Burial will follow in Knollcrest Cemetary, Arcadia, Ohio. Visitation will be from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Coldren-Crates Funeral Home, Findlay, Ohio. Memorials may be given to St. Wendelin Catholic Church or th Hancock County Humane Society.
