Lutes, a retired longtime kindergarten teacher in Heppner and Hermiston, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 3, at the Hermiston Cemetery. Mrs. Lutes, 79, of Hermiston, died Monday, June 28, 2004, at the Good Samaritan Center. She was born at Sawyer, N.D., on Dec. 23, 1924, to Albert and Martha Beck. She was a longtime resident of Hermiston and had taught Kindergarten in Heppner and Hermiston for more than 25 years. She was active in the Hermiston Church of the Nazarene. In the community, she was known for her needlepoint and her "Flip your Wig" pencils. Husbands Roy Tabor and Gilbert Lutes preceded her in death. Survivors include sons, Roy W. Tabor of Vancouver, Wash., and Allen Tabor of Milwaukee, Wis.; daughters, Brenda Tabor of Costa Mesa, Calif., and Karen Humphrey of Boise; brothers, George Beck and Albert Beck, both of Velva, N.D.; sisters, Evelyn Ironhawk of Heppner, Irene Potts of Marshall, Mo., Ruth Doak of Olathe, Kan., Doris Ollenburger and Lorene Hammerschmidt, both of Hutchinson, Kan., and Grace Vogt of Colony, Okla.; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hermiston Church of the Nazarene. Burns Mortuary of Hermiston is in care of arrangements. Family links: Spouse: Gilbert F.
