John J. Mosbrucker Monday, 27 August 2007 John J. Mosbrucker, 78, Valley City, died Friday Aug. 24, 2007, at Mercy Hospital in Valley City. Memorial services will be conducted at 2 p.m., Monday, Aug. 27, 2007, in St. Catherine Catholic Church in Valley City with Rev. Michael Schommer officiating. John J. Mosbrucker was born Oct. 14, 1928, at Glen Ullin, the son of Adolph and Pauline (Dietrich) Mosbrucker. John grew up and attended school in Glen Ullin. He later attended Bismarck Junior College in Bismarck, and then Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science where he graduated from. John served in The United States Army from Dec. 6, 1951, until he was honorably discharged Jan. 19, 1953. John married Yvonne Miller Sept. 2, 1957, at Glen Ullin. The couple moved to Downey, Calif., where they raised their family and John worked as a Medical Examiner Investigator for Los Angeles County in Los Angeles, Calif. The couple later retired and moved to Valley City in 1988. Yvonne died Nov. 7, 2004. John was an avid bowler and enjoyed working with children in The Valley City Junior Bowling Association. He also enjoyed fishing and playing cards. John is survived by his three children: John Mosbrucker, Forest Falls, Calif.; Karen Smith San Clemente, Calif.; and Barbara Baldwin, Garner, N.C.; sister-in-law and brother-in-law: Gloria and Vic Engler, Valley City; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. John was preceded in death by his wife, parents and numerous brothers and sisters. Memorial contributions may be made to the Barnes County Senior Citizens Center, 139 2nd Avenue SE Valley City, N.D. 58072 Arrangements are with Lerud-Johnson-Schuldt Funeral Home of Valley City.
