Guy Funk, 69, of Olney, went to be with the Lord Jesus Christ at 10:20 p.m. Wednesday, November 5, 2008, at his residence.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home in Olney. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Pastor Troy Reynolds officiating. Burial will be in Crest Haven Cemetery in rural Claremont.
Mr. Funk was born August 14, 1939, in LaJunta, Co., the son of John Benjamin and Vivian Dolane (Wilke) Funk. He married Karen Rose Leaf on December 3, 1961, in Olney. She survives.
He worked at Olney Plating Company and also helped Myrl Scherer as a hod carrier helping build many homes in Olney.
Mr. Funk is survived by his wife, Karen Funk, of Olney; son, D. Wallace Funk and his wife, Kay Komie-Funk, of Evanston; daughter, Lisa Funk, of Olney; granddaughter, Whitney Boykin and her husband, Joshua, of Noble; grandson, Joshua Lancaster, of Olney; granddaughter, Nicole Lancaster, of Olney; grandson, Dylan Komie-Funk, of Evantson; great-granddaughter, Madelyn Rose Swanson, of Olney; sister, Gail Casebolt, of Summersville, Mo.; sister, Jennie Yocam and her husband, Gary, of Kim, Co.; five nieces and nephews; and nine great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, in-laws, four great-grandchildren, Heaven, Caden, Gabriel and Isaiah Boykin; and brother-in-law, John Casebolt.
