Description: Christoph was born in the village of Kassel, near the town of
Odessa in South Russia. He was born in 1868. He married Barbara Perman
who was also born in the same town and the same year. Their oldest child
Katherina was also born in south Russia. They came to America in 1890 and
lived at Tripp south Dakota. In 1891 they went to North Dakota and
homesteaded in Logan County. They had 16 children. Katherina was born in
1888, John was born in 1890 and died in 1899. Christoph was born in 1891
and died 1899. Jacob was born in 1893. Frederick was born in 1894 and
died in 1968. Marie was born in 1896. Andrew was born in 1898,
Christina was born in 1901 and died in 1918. Lydia was born in 1902.
Walter was born in 1904. Samual was born in 1906. Christoph was born in
1908 and died stillborn Helen was born i 1909 and died in 1956. George
was born in 1911 (this is my grandfather). Esther was born in 1912 and
Herbert was born in 1914. George E Ketterling, son of Chr
istoph and Barbara was my grandfather. His DOB was 7/13/1911. He died
May 7, 1990. He married Grace Elenor Walters who was born 11/2/1919 and
died 2/3/1998 They had 3 children. Gayle Elain born 1/30/37. Gerald
Edward born 5/20/42 and Gene Edward born 12/25/1943. Gene is my father.
I have more information concerning the first, second, third and fourth
generations born in America which is too much to type here, If I
researched correctly, this line appears to trace back to Johannes
Ketterling 1750.
