HAVLIN, 80, of Brunswick, passed away Wednesday, October 15, 2014 in the emergency department at Brunswick Southwest General Hospital. The daughter of Betty (Frits) Share, Barbara was born January 20, 1934 in Cincinnati. Barbara's focus was that of wife, mother and grandmother. In 1974 Barbara moved from Cincinnati to Mansfield. Selfless and giving, for many years she dedicated countless hours as a volunteer for organizations such as the Medina County SPCA, MADD and was a hostess for the Miss Ohio Pageant. She was an avid bridge player. She was also involved with Easter Seals and the American Cancer Society . In 2014, she was recognized as volunteer of the year for the Medina County SPCA. Barbara lived in Brunswick for the past 14 years. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Jeffrey and Lisa Havlin of Burton and daughter and son-in-law Jennifer and Michael Brickner of Middleburg Heights; grandchildren Aaron Havlin, Lindsey and husband Robert Giles, Keli Miller, Zane Havlin, Kathryn, Allison, Meghan, and Kristen Brickner; great-grandchildren Lexi Giles and Gaige Miller; sister Betty Rupp of San Francisco, California. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Havlin and brother Joseph Share. Graveside services will be Monday, October 20, 2014 at 12:30 p.m. in Arlington Memorial Gardens, 2145 Compton Road, Mt. Healthy, Cincinnati. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Medina County SPCA (245 South Medina Street, Medina, Ohio, 44256).
