Mass of Christan Burial for Joseph Wolf, 87, of Mott, ND will be 10:30 am MT Monday, February 14, 2011 at St. Vincent's Catholic Church in Mott. Fr. Charles Zins will officate with burial in Sunnyslope Cemetery at Mott.
A Rosary Service will be Sunday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the Evanson Jensen Funeral Home in Mott.
Special music will be provided by Pat Schwartz and Michaela Greff.
Serving as casketbearers are Nathan Greff, Shane Frank, Travis Greff, Josh Greff, Brad Greff and Gary Greff.
Joseph J. Wolf was born on March 7, 1923 in Mott, ND to Jerome and Theresa (Senn) Wolf. Joe attended Steiner District through Elementary School.
Joe was united in marriage to Monica Meier on June 19, 1946. Joe worked as a farm hand and drove the country school bus. Joe and Monica owed and operated a country store in St. Placidus, ND for many years. In 1972, they sold the store and moved into Mott where they raised three children, Jerry, Carilyn, and Marilyn. In 1990, Joe and Monica adopted their granddaughter, Amy.
On July 24, 2006, a piece of Joe was taken with his wife, Monica as she entered heaven. Later that year, he moved into the Good Samaritan Nursing Home. Joe loved to make jokes and kid around with the nursing staff. In April of 2009, Joe's heart was once again full with the birth of his great granddaughter, Haylee Monica Greff. Nothing lit his eyes up and brought a smile to his face like when Haylee would come to visit. Many hugs and cuddles were shared between Joe and Haylee.
Joe was a devot catholic who never missed a mass. He enjoyed his long walks around the town, where he loved to stop and visit with everyone he saw. Joe and Monica took great pride in their garden and beautiful yard.
Joe will be greatly missed by all and will never be forgotten. We find comfort in knowing he was welcomed into heaven with open arms by his wife.
Grateful for sharing in his life are his children, Marilyn Gawrylow and Carilyn Wolf, Dickinson, ND, Amy (Nathan) Greff, Bismarck, ND, daughter-in-law; Bonnie Wolf, St. Cloud, MN, ten grandchildren and nine great grandchildren, brother, Hank Wolf, Billings, MT, and sister, Mary Hochalter, Bowman, ND..
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Monica on July 24, 2006, his son, Jerry, and his siblings.
Visitation will be 1:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, February 13 at the Evanson Jensen Funeral Home in Mott and one hour prior to the funeral mass on Monday morning.
