Birth: Dec. 22, 1911 Wishek McIntosh County North Dakota, USA Death: Jul. 18, 2006 Wishek McIntosh County North Dakota, USA Obituary Bismarck Tribune (Oct 05, 2015) Theodore "Ted" Hochhalter, 94, Wishek, died July 18, 2006, at Wishek Community Hospital. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 22, at St. Luke Lutheran Church, Wishek. Burial will be in Wishek City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. today at Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Wishek. Theodore "Ted" Hochhalter, son of Jacob and Christina (Klotz) Hochhalter, was born Dec. 22, 1911, southwest of Wishek. He grew up and attended school in the area. Ted was united in marriage to Ida Gehring in 1939, at Wishek. They made their home on the northeast side of Green Lake and later farmed on the south side of Wishek. They moved into Wishek, where Ted worked for various employers in Wishek. Ida passed away in January 1967. Ted was united in marriage to Emma Ketterling in 1973. Emma passed away in October 1990. Ted entered the Wishek Home for the Aged in February 2005. Ted loved to hunt, fish and spend time with his children and family. He is survived by two daughters, Sharon (Larry) Ruff, Wishek, and Betty (Joe) Torez, Bloomington, Minn.; seven sons, Dermot (Diane) Hochhalter, West Fargo, Stan (Joy) Hochhalter, Ronan, Mont., Dennis (Peggy) Hochhalter, Shakopee, Minn., Ronnie Hochhalter, Rosemount, Minn., Jim Hochhalter and Don (Lora) Hochhalter, all of Wishek, and Terry Hochhalter, West Fargo; 26 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; one sister, Martha Dockter, Eureka, S.D.; and two brothers, Edwin (Frances) Hochhalter, Atlanta, and Walter (Alice) Hochhalter, Wishek. He was preceded in death by his wives, Ida and Emma; two grandchildren, Brian Ruff and Greg Ruff; four sisters, Magdalena, Emma, Anna and Lydia; and eight brothers, Sam, John, Henry, Jake, Edwin, Edward, Art and Ervin.
