Birth: Jul. 24, 1861 Posey County Indiana, USA Death: May 9, 1940 Posey County Indiana, USA Poseyville News dated May 10, 1940: Mrs. Anna Schettler, 78, widow of John Schettler, and a highly esteemed resident of the Stewartsville community for more than a half century succumbed at her farm home north of there at 6 o'clock this morning. She had been seriously ill for the past three months, suffering from a heart ailment and complications. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon at the Methodist church in Stewartsville, in charge of the Rev. R.J. Skelton, of Patoka. Burial will be in the Stewartsville cemetery by the side of the husband who died Dec. 1915. Surviving are two sons, Jacob W. Schettler at home, Carl F. Schettler, of Mt. Vernon; a sister, Mrs. John Logan Stallings, of this place, and three grandsons, John D., William E., and Carl F. Schettler. She was the daughter of Charles and Elizabeth Kemmerling and was born near New Harmony. Her life was spent in Posey County.
