Theresa H. Ressler, 81, Mandan, died Aug. 4, 2013, at Sanford Living Center, Mandan. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 7, at Spirit of Life Catholic Church, Mandan, with the Rev. Chris Kadrmas as celebrant. Burial will be at Mandan Union Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan, with a Catholic Daughters' rosary at 7 p.m. and parish vigil at 7:15 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
Theresa was born Sept. 7, 1931, to Michael and Magdalena (Friesz) Beckler in Fallon. She grew up in Fallon, graduating from Mandan Senior High School. Theresa married Leo Ressler Sept. 11, 1950, at St. Anthony. Together, they raised three children.
Theresa was extremely outgoing and loved to visit with anyone. Friends and family were central in her life. She was an amazing cook and was known for her delicious brownies — always enjoyed by everyone.
Theresa's generous heart extended to giving back to the community. She was active in Mandan Golden Age, Ft. Mckeen Homemakers for 58 years, CDA, North Dakota Hereford Association Women's Auxiliary and was a Highland 4-H Club advisor. A highlight of Theresa's life was travelling throughout the United States with her sister and cousin.

I grew up on a farm at Fallon and went to boarding school there for eight years. I then attended and graduated from Mandan High School.
I got married and lived on another farm for 38 years.
Raised three children and have three grandchildren who I love dearly. I moved to Mandan in 1989 and worked at Heartview for four years. After that, I did house cleaning for 12 years. I am now retired.
Theresa will be deeply missed by her daughters, Koreen Ressler (special friend, Ron Reinhardt), Bismarck, and Karen (Russell) Stokes, Orlando, Fla.; her son, Kenneth (Vickie), St. Louis, Mo.; her grandchildren, Alexis and Austin Ressler and Matthew Stokes; her sisters, Louise Markel, Mandan, Dorothy Berger, Mandan, and Jeanie (Al) Braun, Mandan; her brothers, Henry (Jackie) Beckler, Mandan, Mike (Pat) Beckler, Las Cruces, N.M., and Dean (Pam) Beckler, Mandan; and one sister-in-law, Delores Beckler, Mandan.
Theresa was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leo, died in 1992; one brother, Andrew; two brothers-in-law, Clem Markel and Bernie Berger; also a special friend, Marvin Kary.
