Butler, 84, Graystone Court, Altoona, formerly of 505 Walton Ave., Altoona, died late Saturday evening at her residence after an extended illness. She was born in Ashville RD, daughter of the late Edward J. and Maude (Rhoa) Weise. She married Hugh P. Butler on May 8, 1948, at St. Monica's Catholic Church, Chest Springs, and he died Jan. 29, 2001. Surviving are her companion, Donald Imler; eight children: George Michael (Paulette), Gloria Mansfield (Ed), Kathie Klein (Dave), Joyce, Barbara and Robert, Fred (Kristi), and Cindy Dillen (J. Ardie); 14 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a brother, Robert Weise. She was preceded in death by three brothers: Donald, Edward J. and Harold Weise. Helen was a 1946 graduate of Patton High School. She attended American Institute of Banking courses and Penn State University. She retired July 1, 1994, as a financial sales representative at Keystone Financial, Altoona. She was a back-up clerk/teller at Mercy Hospital Credit Union for more than a year and worked in the Altoona Hospital Admissions Office for nine years. Helen was a member of St. Therese of the Child Jesus Catholic Church, Altoona, a past member of the Altoona Business and Professional Women's Club and a member of the Altoona Hospital Auxiliary. She also served as a greeter/volunteer at the information desk at Altoona Hospital. Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 23, 2014, at Jones Funeral Home, where a vigil for the deceased will be celebrated at 7 p.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 24, 2014, at St. Therese of the Child Jesus Catholic Church, Father D.
