Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 31, at Christ the King Catholic Church, Mandan, with the Rev. Kenneth Phillips officiating. Burial will be in Mandan Union Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Buehler-Larson Funeral Home, Mandan, where a rosary followed by a prayer vigil will begin at 7 p.m. There will be no visitation at the church. Viola Doll was born May 28, 1931, at Fallon, the daughter of Christian and Marianne (Vogel) Doll. Raised and educated in the area, she graduated from Mandan High School in 1949. Vi then attended Dickinson State Teachers College and taught in rural schools for three years. She married William P. Leingang Nov. 20, 1950. They farmed near St. Anthony until 1954, when they moved to Mandan. In 1971, after all their children were in school, Vi began her 23-year career with K-Mart, retiring in 1994. Vi loved every minute she could spend with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting, baking cookies and working crossword puzzles. She is survived by her husband, Bill; her daughters and son-in-law, Lydia MacKenzie, Richmond, Minn., Linda and Dennis Urlacher, Mandan, Louanne Leingang, Mandan, and Laureen Leingang, Houston; her sons and daughter-in-law, Alvin and Robben, Mandan, and Alan, San Diego; six grandchildren, Christopher (Jill) Bohl, Nathan Bohl, Alecia (Chris) Pulver, Amber (Joe) Boykin, Brandon (Taylor) Leingang and Heidi Leingang; six great-grandchildren; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Katherine and Joe Eckroth, Leona and Henry Stegmiller and Hildegard and Ray Fitterer, all of Mandan, Mary Ann and Blaise Koch, Flasher, and Veronica and Larry Olson, Tacoma, Wash.; her sister-in-law, Angie Doll, New Salem; and her special friend, Janel Leingang, Mandan. Vi was preceded in death by her parents; two infant sisters; her sister, Ann Llewellyn; and her brother, Jack Doll. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Susan G.
