Birth: Jan. 6, 1834 Ivanivka Mykolayivs'ka, Ukraine Death: Feb. 3, 1908 Morton County North Dakota, USA Karl MUTSCHELKNAUS born 6 January 1834 in Johannestal, Beresan, Odessa, South Russia was the son of Friedrich MUTSCHELKNAUS (1796-1842) and Jakobina Barbara HEINLE (1800-1868). Karl married Anna Christina DIEDE on the 22nd of October 1856 in Rohrbach, Beresan, Odessa, South Russia. Anna Christina died 17 days after the birth of her 2nd daughter Wilhelmina in September 1859 in Johannestal. Karl married Louisa (nee Muehlbeier) FUEHRER on the 24th of November 1859 in Johannestal, Beresan, Odessa, South Russia. Karl MUTSCHELKNAUS at the age of 50 with his wife Louisa and their children; Katharina, Jacob, Karl, Christina, Christian and Gottlieb, immigrated to America via the Port of Hamburg, Germany aboard the SS "Moravia" and arrived at the Port of New York, New York on the 14th of November 1884. The Karl MUTSCHELKNAUS family settled on a homestead 8½ miles south of Hebron, North Dakota.
