Clara Jellum
Loving mother and grandmother, Clara A. Jellum, died Sunday, May 15, 2011, at Sanford Palliative Care Unit, Fargo, at the age of 81.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 18, at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Dilworth, Minn. Burial was at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery, Moorhead, Minn.
Clara Ann Stumpf was born Oct. 29, 1929, at Mandan, the daughter of Joseph and Rose (Knoll) Stumpf. She married Marvin Curry on Sept. 8, 1953, and they moved to Glyndon, Minn., in 1963.
Marvin died on Oct. 19, 1973, and Clara continued to make her home in Glyndon. On Sept. 8, 1979, Clara married Elvard J. Jellum. He died on May 26, 1981. Clara recently moved to Dilworth in April of this year.
Clara was a long time member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, where she was a Christian Mother. She also served on the Glyndon City Council, was a Lioness Club member, an American Legion member, and was a volunteer for many charities.
Although she spent countless hours volunteering, family was the most important thing in Clara’s life. She was a mother and grandmother first, baking special treats for each grandchild and always keeping up to date on everyone’s activities.
She will be deeply missed by her five children, Wayne (Jeanne) Curry, Dilworth, Wanda (John) Krom, Fargo, Myron (Julie) Curry, Hawley, Minn., Paula Curry, Marshall, Minn., and Marilyn Curry, Dilworth; six grandchildren, Caleb Krom, Evan Krom, Laura Krom, Garrett Krom, Ashley Curry and Cody Curry; and siblings, Marge (Edwin) Olson, Fargo, Pete (Florence) Stumpf, Larimore, and Martin (Minnie) Stumpf, Harvey.
In addition to her two husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Francis (Albert) Bethke, Ann (John) Wedvik, Betty (Douglas) Vernon, Mary (Jake) Richter, Paul (Eleanor) Stumpf, and Nick (Kathryn) Stumpf.
