Birth: Nov. 22, 1932 Davenport Scott County Iowa, USA Death: Nov. 23, 2004 Gainesville Alachua County Florida, USA Quad-City Times, The (IA) - December 2, 2004 GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Donna Marihart, 72, died Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2004, at Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Fla., after an accident. She was born in Davenport on Nov. 22, 1931, to Clarence and LaTreva (Hudgel) Marihart. She received her bachelor's degree from Marycrest College, Davenport, and her master's degree from Bradley University, Peoria, Ill., and her masters of fine arts from Notre Dame. She was a professor of art for many years at Marycrest College and headed the art department there. She was co-owner of Ivy Ridge Studio with Ann Opgenorth in rural White Springs for the last 14 years, after running the studio in Bellevue, Iowa, and opening in LeClaire, Iowa, in 1964. She was a sculptor, working first in wood and later in metals. Her works are in many public and private collections throughout the world.
