Pearl E. Ulrich, age 88, of Horicon, died on Sunday, July 15, 2007, at Sylvan Crossings in Beaver Dam.
Visitation for Pearl Ulrich will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Horicon on Wednesday, July 18, 2007, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM. The Mass of Christian Burial will follow the visitation at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 11:00 AM. Fr. Michael Petrie will officiate. Burial will be in the Oakhill Cemetery.
The former Pearl Ella Leichtle was born on May 21, 1919, in Theresa, the daughter of John W. and Katherine A. (Buhr) Leichtle. On September 16, 1939, she was united in marriage to Fredric A. Ulrich in Clyman. Pearl was a 1937 graduate of the Horicon High School and was class Valedictorian. She was a longtime member of the St. Malachy Catholic Church, now known as Sacred Heart Catholic Church and was a member of the Altar Society. She enjoyed playing cards and golfing. Pearl was also a member of the Junior Womens Club of Horicon and she was a world traveler. Her family and her home were the most important things in her life.
Survivors include her five children, Jenny M. (Steve) Miazga of Pewaukee, Mary K. (David) Spencer of Oak Park Heights, MN, Annette C. (Hugo) Drews of Chicago, IL, Sarah A. (Dennis) Rechek of Horicon, and John C. (Cheryl) Ulrich of Vienna, Austria, 14 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, sister, Esther Simon of Fort Myers, FL , brother, Rueben Leichtle of Columbia,SC, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Fredric A. Ulrich on Dec 22, 2004, her son, Fredric P. Ulrich, six brothers, Erwin, Raymond, Clarence, Earl, Lester, and Harvey Leichtle, two sisters, Alice Lees, Rhoda Zuehlke and an infant sister, Lorraine Leichtle.
The family suggests that memorials be made in Pearl Ulrichs name to the The Horicon Area Foundation, Fredric P. Ulrich Scholarship Fund.
