Birth: Jan. 22, 1930 Eureka McPherson County South Dakota, USA Death: May 5, 2006 Eureka McPherson County South Dakota, USA The Aberdeen News, SD, May 10, 2006 – EUREKA – Funeral for Mildred Job, 76, of Eureka will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 11 at Zion Lutheran Church. Burial will follow at Zion Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Straub's Funeral Home and one hour before the church service. She is survived by her husband, Melroy; son, Richard Job of Vermillion; daughter, Laurie Schumacher of Pierre; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Verona Papendick of Eureka, and Marilyn Brechlin of Minneapolis, Minn. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Michael; sister, Florence; and one great-grandson, Kaleb Job. Mildred was born to August Bender and Mary Lapp on Jan. 22, 1930, at Eureka. She married Melroy Job on Oct. 16, 1955, at the Reformed Church in Eureka. She was a life-long resident of Eureka. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, the church choir, and the Women of ELCA. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She was baptized, confirmed and married in the Reformed Church of Eureka. She taught rural school for eight years, was a secretary for four years at the local mercantile store, and was the secretary for Eureka Plumbing. Casket-bearers will be Trevor Job, Tyler Job, Bruce Job, Chris Schumacher, Derek Schumacher, Lew Wayne Papendick. Pastor Dean Nelson will officiate and Lana Hilgemann will be the organist.
