Isabel Boespflug
The Rosary Service for Isabel Boespflug, age 92, of Lemmon, SD, will be held at 10:00 a.m. followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 6, 2015 at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lemmon, SD. Fr. Ron Garry, Fr. Tony Grossenburg and Deacon Bill Dustman will officiate with burial to follow in the Greenhill Cemetery at Lemmon.
Isabel Keller was born on October 8, 1922 to Joe and Katherine (Hoffman) Keller on the family home north of Lemmon, SD. She attended school at North Lemmon and graduated from Lemmon High School in 1941. Isabel attained her teaching certificate and began teach at a school north of Mott, ND.
Isabel met George Boespflug and they were united in marriage in May of 1943. Three children were born to this union, Beverly, Richard and Leo. In 1948 Isabel and her children moved to Lemmon, SD and she began working at Five Counties Hospital in the laundry department.
She eventually became the manager of laundry and housekeeping and worked at the hospital for over 30 years before retiring. Isabel also worked nights at the Quansetta Club and later the Steakhouse. Isabel also cleaned St. Mary’s Rectory for Msgr. Leahy and other priests from 1948 to 1968.
Following her retirement, she enjoyed playing BINGO, cards and making patch quilts along with doing mending for people in town. She also enjoyed taking bus trips with the Senior Bus Tours.
Isabel passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2015 at the West River Regional Medical Center in Hettinger, ND.
She is survived by her daughter, Bev (Keith) Hoffman, Lemmon, SD; son, Leo (Bonita) Boespflug, Ranchester, WY; grandchildren, Lisa (Brian) Bartlett, Paul (Harmonie) Hoffman, Emily, Casey and Audrey Boespflug and Becca (Jarrod) Johnson; great-grandchildren, Jamie, Brittney and Jordan Bartlett, Amya and Irie Hoffman, and Carter and Miles Johnson; one sister, Josephine Meier, Mott, ND.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Richard Boespflug; five brothers, Frank, Louie, Jack, Leo and Gene Keller; and three sisters, Monica, Amy and Annie.
A memorial has been established to the Lemmon Senior Center and the Lemmon Nutrition Site.
Visitation will be from 1:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, June 5, 2015 at the Evanson Jensen Funeral Home in Lemmon. .
