Ida Strauss - Obituary FESSENDEN -- Ida Strauss, 94, Fessenden, died April 14, 2003, in a Harvey hospital. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Fessenden. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Fessenden. Ida was born September 3, 1908, to Fred and Kathryn Schnabel on their farm south of Harvey where she grew up and attended school. She married Joseph Strauss December 26, 1927, at Harvey. They lived in Harvey a short time before moving to the Strauss family farm south of Harvey. They moved to a farm east of Manfred in 1942. She moved to Harvey in 1990 and was a resident of St. Aloisius nursing Home since 1993. Her husband died June 7, 1997. She is survived by six daughters, Kathryn Gladheim, Vancouver, Wash., Elaine Weigelt, Lucille Wahl and Arlene Ehni, all of Fessenden, Audrey Larson, Minot, and Judy Schaudel, Omaha, Neb.; four sons, Donald and Joseph Jr., both of Mesa, Ariz., Richard, Omaha, and John, Camden, Ariz.; 39 grandchildren; 87 greatgrandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Eleanor Schimke, Lodi, Calif., and Furbie Schimke, Bismarck.
