Golish, 83, of Winona, died Saturday, Aug. 7, 2010, at Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester. She was born Feb. 7, 1927, in rural Altura to Andrew and Katherine (Kirch) Schlink. On Oct. 25, 1949, she was united in marriage with Melvin C. Golish at St. Joseph's Parish in Winona. He preceded her in death on Aug. 26, 2002. Mildred was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Winona, and a former member of St. Rose of Lima, Lewiston. She was also a member of the Legion of Mary, Winhaven's Bible Study Group, and served on the Board of Directors of SEMCAC. Mildred loved angels, of which she had a large collection, and also enjoyed teddy bears. She constantly prayed the Most Holy Rosary and also prayed for anyone in need. Most of all she loved to spend time with her grandkids and great-grandkids. She is survived by her children, Rick (fiancee, Susan Welch) Golish, Owatonna, and Judy (fiance, Jeff Leader) Golish, Circle Pines, Minn.; grandchildren, Joe Golish and Malinda Golish; step-granddaughter, Lisa Welch; great-grandchildren, Parker, Payton, Niveah and Nashiya; sisters, Christina Bender, La Crosse, Wis., Theresa Kronebusch, Rollingstone, Marie Mueller, Winona, and Hyacintha Walters, Elgin; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as other relatives and friends. Mildred was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Alan; her parents; and sisters Clara Andring and Susie Richie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 12, 2010, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Winona. The Rev. William M. Becker will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery in Lewiston.
