He lived in Harrison County, Indiana, died there on 10 March 1853, and is buried in St. Paul Siegwald Cemetery, Harrison County. His wife, Elizabeth Rees, b.16 Apr 1808, d.19 Dec 1848,is buried beside him as are two of their sons, John b.02 Feb 1834, d. 02 Aug 1867, and William, b.16 Apr 1840, d.03 Oct 1862. Their daughter, Elizabeth (my great-grandmother)b.16 Jun 1843, d.18 Aug 1929. married Michel Hauswald, b.28 Aug 1838, d.11 Nov 1893. Johannes Jakob and Elizabeth had two other children, Caroline b.1845 and Philip, b.1848, d.Apr 1917.
