She was born April 9, 1935 in Kosciusko County, IN to Forrest and Anna Marie (Heyde) Heckaman. She was a graduate of Burket High School in 1953. On June 2, 1953 in Silver Lake, IN she was united in marriage to Lowell Swick. She had 25 years of service with the United States Postal Service and retired in 1995 as the Pierceton Indiana Postmaster. She was a member of the Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church Pierceton, IN, the National Association of Postmasters of the United States and the United Methodist Women. Survivors include her husband Lowell Swick of Pierceton, IN; sons Terry L. (spouse Patty) Swick of Angola, IN and Thomas J. (spouse Sue) Swick of Lee's Summit, MO; daughters Debra D. (spouse Mike) Archer of Vevay, IN and Donna D. (spouse) Tom Balazs of Winona Lake, IN; siblings Seward Heckaman, Rosemary Williamson, Maxine Taylor, Doyle Heckaman, Karen Bucher and Diane Bedic. In addition, 18 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren survive. Funeral Services are scheduled for Wednesday November 28, 2012 at 2:00 PM in Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church. Calling hours are scheduled for 4:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday November 27, 2012 at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel Warsaw, IN. Also, calling will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Pastor Brenda Fritz will officiate the services. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery Pierceton, IN.
