  [S927] Obituary. HAROLD J. GUTHMILLER Services for Harold J. Guthmiller, 75, Aberdeen will be 9 am, Monday, August 2, 2010 at Zion Lutheran Church with Pastor Tanya Rist officiating. Burial at 11 am at Green Mound Cemetery, Leola. Harold died Thursday, July 29, 2010 at Bethesda Home of Aberdeen. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm, Sunday with a prayer service at 7 pm at Spitzer-Miller Funeral Home, 1111 S. Main St. Aberdeen. Harold John Guthmiller was born on January 2, 1935 in McPherson County, SD to John and Johanna (Reinecke) Guthmiller. This is the area where he grew up and attended school. On June 5, 1960 he married Sharon Gabel at Leola, SD. They made their home on a farm near Leola until 1971 when they moved into Leola. He worked for the Department of Transportation until he retired in 1990. In 1992 they moved to Aberdeen. Harold was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Aberdeen and a past member of St. James Lutheran Church, Leola. He was a member of Little Leola River and the Aberdeen Senior Center. He will be greatly missed by Sharon, his children and grandchildren. Grateful for having shared Harold’s life are his wife, Sharon Guthmiller, Aberdeen, children, John (Kristi) Guthmiller, St. Francis, KS, Jim (JoAnn) Guthmiller, Lyle, MN, Marla (Clayton) Larson, Selby, Joel (Tina) Guthmiller, Groton, grandchildren, David, Sarah, Adam, Kelsey, Carter, Allison, Nikolas, Cade, Carly and Cassidy, sister, Margaret Novak, Sioux Falls, brother, Arlen (Leta) Guthmiller, Leola. Harold is preceded in death by his parents, John and Johanna Guthmiller, brother-in-laws, Guido Hohenecker and Ray Novak.
