Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, August 16, 2013 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mandan, ND with Rev. Shane Campbell as celebrant. Burial will be at Mandan Union Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, August 15, 2013 from 3:00-8:00 pm at Weigel Funeral Home, with a Rosary/Parish Vigil at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue at the church one hour prior to the service on Friday. Josephine Martin was born April 29, 1930 to John and Martina (Schafer) Martin in Bismarck. On February 5, 1951, Josie married Jacob (Jack) Ressler in Mandan. She was a woman with a generous and giving heart. Josie took great pride in her home, having a schedule of tasks that were to be done daily. She was very particular and precise on these duties. Josie had a servant's heart, regularly cleaning, cooking and serving others. Everyone loved to enjoy her food and baked goods made from her favorite recipes. Family and faith were first and foremost in Josie's life. She always remembered everyone who needed prayers and prayed for them daily. Josie was very active and enjoyed the Polka channel. Josie will be deeply missed by her children, Jim (Leona), Bismarck; Dennis (Linda), Yvonne (Jerry) Peterson, and Allen (Becky), all of Mandan; grandchildren, Michelle (Scott) Haas, Brian (Jackie) Ressler, Tom Ressler, Scott (Amie) Ressler, Brittany (Mick) Peterson, Jennifer (Jason) Ritz, Justin Ressler, Amanda Ressler, Michael (Heather) Peterson, Amy (Marc) Torgerson and Kayla Ressler (friend, Curry Quenette); and 20 great-grandchildren. Josie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jack; grandson, Ryan Wayne Peterson; and sisters, Betty Seelye, Bernice Anderson and Maggie Haider.
