  [S927] Obituary. NEW SALEM — Steven Allen Schmidt, 54, New Salem, passed away Oct. 26, 2013, at his home. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1, at DaWise-Perry Funeral Services, Mandan, with Deacon Jerry Volk officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Jamestown. Visitation will be held from noon until time of service at DaWise-Perry Funeral Services, Mandan. Steven was born Jan. 29, 1959, at Mandan, to John and Eleanor (Ressler) Schmidt Jr. He was raised and educated in Mandan. He worked as a welder for a time and lived in Las Vegas from 1994-99. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and deep sea fishing. He is survived by four daughters, Bobbi Jo, Stephanie, Stacy and Natalie; two sisters, Stacy (Clarence) Wetzel, New Salem, and Susan Neibauer, Mandan; one brother, Dick (Delaine) Schmidt, Jamestown; eight grandchildren; and his fiancee, Denise (Henke) Hinkel and her son, Andrew.
