  [S927] Obituary. Ronald Lee Schnabel was born October 17, 1957 in Rapid City, SD to Hervin (Peanuts) and Shirley Schnabel. After attending numerous schools, he graduated from T.F. Riggs High School in 1977, where Ron excelled in wrestling. Ron then went to work fulltime with the SDDOT Pierre Region as a Highway Maintenance worker for almost thirty years. The last five years he happily worked for Morris Inc. as a cement truck driver. Ron loved to hunt and fish. This was a passion he learned from his father. June 29, 1996 was the greatest day of his life as his daughter Mariah was born. His love was to share his knowledge and passion for hunting and fishing with her. They also shared a special bond with their two dogs, Tiny and Brandy. Grateful for having shared in his life are his daughter Mariah, his mother Shirley Schnabel, his brother Allen Schnabel and his partner Kristi Baker, his sister Monica Ortbahn and her husband Jerry, his special nephews Nolan Ortbahn and Nathan Schnabel, all of Pierre, SD, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He is preceded in death by his father, grandparents and several uncles and aunts.
