WESSINGTON SPRINGS Lillian L. Kludt, 90, of Wessington Springs, died Friday, Dec. 21, 2012, at Avera Weskota Memorial Medical Center in Wessington Springs.
Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Wessington Springs, with the Rev. Dan Edzards officiating. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery at Wessington Springs.
Visitation will be this afternoon from 1 to 4 p.m., with a 3 p.m. prayer service at Basham Funeral Home in Wessington Springs.
Lillian Wahl was born April 20, 1922, to Adam and Sophia (Dietrich) Wahl. She attended Alpena school and graduated from Alpena High School in 1940. While in high school she played womens basketball which remained a favorite memory throughout her lifetime. She was confirmed in the Ebenezer Reformed Church.
She married John Kludt on Oct. 4, 1940. They lived on a farm in western Jerauld County. They moved into Wessington Springs in the fall of 1978. She worked at Weskota Manor from 1974 to 1994. She survived two bouts with cancer and supported Relay for Life.
She is survived by her children, Thomas Kludt of Hartford, Karen Kludt of Omaha, Neb., Judy Chapman of Omaha, and Randy (Diane) Kludt of Winner; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Elizabeth (Olaf) Teveldal; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Kludt; a sister, Ema (Ruben) Bauer; her parents; and her stepfather, John Schlecter.
