BERNAUER, EMMETT A., 94, passed away Wednesday, December 5, 2012. He was a retired Industrial Engineer for Ford Motor Company, where he worked 41 years. Emmett was a staff sergeant in the Army during World War II, and was a charter member of St. Athanasius Catholic Church, member of the American Institute of Industrial Engineers and was a Kentucky Colonel. His wife, Irene DeLeuil Bernauer, preceded him in death. Emmett is survived by his daughter, Rita Louise Bernauer; two nephews, William J. DeLeuil and Robert B. DeLeuil; one niece, Sharon D. Thieman; and several great-nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be 12 p.m. Monday at St. Athanasius Church, 5915 Outer Loop with burial following in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 1-9 p.m. Sunday and 9-11:30 a.m. Monday at Ratterman and Sons, 3800 Bardstown Road. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Mass of the Air or the WHAS Crusade for Children.
